I was given an 18' catamaran.

Here's my issue. I have a camry with a 1000 lbs.towing capacity. I think my steel trailer is about 400 and the cat is about 400 too. I shouldn't have any problems right? My brother says it won't work out, who's right?

  1. You can do it, There are 3 types of hitches, Normal, Drop, and inverted drop. with the inverted drop you just put the ball on so it actually raises the rest position of the ball. doing this will compensate for the amount that the car drops down when you hook it up. I wouldn't try to pull any long hills with this combo. Another point to consider, make sure your brakes are in good shape.

  2. Don't forget wind age! Small trips (like to a lake and back home)should be O.K. The Camry is a rather light car to be pulling something that slices a lot of air! Be care full!;-)=
