  1. Hi, no 18 is not too old to be high school.  It's very typical.  My son will actually be 19 when he graduates because I am giving him extra time in Kindergarten.

So, your dad going with you to put in applications...depends on the reason.  If you need help working on the application (spelling, presentation), I highly recommend you ask your father for help at that time.  However, when asking for an application it's a fairly simple process.  You go to the receptionist or counter and ask pleasantly if they are hiring, and, if so, may you have an application to fill out and return.  Then just look them in the eye and say thank you.  Return it as promptly as you can.  Remember to dress clean and professionally...khakis and a nice polo or button down shirt are nice.

If your dad has a particular job/company in mind where he has worked or knows the owner/has connections, he could go in with you to apply and put in a good word for you.  Otherwise, in collecting apps., I'd try it on your own.

Finally, remember that once you have an interview, Dad won't be able to be there.  Picking up those applications would probably be a very good exercise for you to gain some confidence for that interview you are going to get and have to attend as just You.

    Good luck to you!

  2. It doesn't matter. Just go with him if you want to.

And there's a lot of 18 year-old high school seniors

Most of them actually are 18

Its cool cuz than you can drive yourself to school & show up at any time, leave at any time & go out for lunch :D

    It's an advantage

  3. Do not take your dad with you - it's time to cut the cord.

  4. you are not too old and you can have your dad with you too so go for it and good luck

  5. One shouldn't take anyone along to apply for jobs.  The employer wants to get to know you, not your dad.

It's time to see the real world and jobs, you can't take mommy and daddy with.

No, 18 isn't too old to be in school. I've known a few who had to be held back a couple years  and they graduated at age 20.

  6. no you are not to old to be in school and it's fine to have your dad with you he is there for support and any questions you may have..
