18 month old walking on one toe like she's limping???

My 18 month old does this thing where she walks around with her left foot on her toes, like she is limping around. At first I was really worried that she hurt her foot or ankle, but then she runs around afterward normal, then later she does the limping thing. Should I be worried that something is wrong? Because I would think that if it did hurt she would cry when she walked around and ran. Does anyone else's toddlers do this???

  1. Is she ever around anyone who does this? Grandparents maybe? She may be modeling them. Young children love to imitate others, so if she sees someone else doing it, she might give it a try.

If this isn't the case, that might just be her way of developing her walk.

Do you notice a difference when she has shoes on or off?

It's probably nothing serious, just pay attention to when she does it. It might give you some clues as to why.

  2. sounds normal to me, they walk in all kinds of silly ways as they gain more muscle control and balance! As long as she is not in pain or showing signs of injury like swelling or bruising, I'd just sit back and laugh at her crazy antics! Have fun... :)
