Has anyone heard of this?. We spent last night in hospital as about 9 ish yesterday evening i started bleeding heavily the blood was not bright red but very pink and lots of it. I went to A&E who confirmed there was blood in my urine, we were then seen by a gyne and she said it was a Threatened Miscarriage and examined me. She said she couldnt see anything as the placenta was in the way and she thinks the bleeding must have come from there. I'm very worried now as everything was perfect on the scan on wednesday and i havent done any heavy lifting or anything strenous what do you thinks happened? They wouldnt scan me but they listened to the heartbeat twice & i have listened today and it sounds normal. They have told me to rest for a few days in bed and 'see what happens' but i am so worried because they wouldnt scan me.

Because it wasnt bright red and more pink do you think i have anything to worry about, i have had a few pains in my side but i think i am imagining them now lol the bleeding has stopped.

  1. I am 5 months pregnant, and this would have scared me very bad.  If they detected blood in your urine, is it possible that you could have passed some urine, did they test to see if the liquid could have been urine? (just an FYI, mine has been leaking for a couple months)  I have had UTI's so bad, i was peeing blood.  The Dr. should have told you more about your condition.  If I were you, I would put myself on bed rest, at least for a few days.

  2. I'm so sorry! Pregnancy is stressful! Its so hard to not know what is going on...

I have a friend who had something called a "placental previa" (or something like that... i'm sure I spelled it wrong) and she said that she bled quite a bit and thought she was miscarrying. But, she now has a healthy 3 year old boy.

Just do what your doctor says... rest, rest, rest! I know this isn't really comforting, but there really is nothing you can do. Just take it easy and let whatever is happening run its course. 18 weeks is a little late to miscarry, and your chances of miscarrying are pretty darned slim... so relax. You're most likely just fine.

Good luck! I'm sorry its so stressful!
