  1. Well, furniture isn't going to prevent weight from being put on your floor. It will add weight. Think about what supports there are under your room - is there a load-bearing wall? Not all walls are load-bearing. Are there posts or other support structures? If there are, try to center the aquarium over one of these supports. If not, it's possible that a very heavy tank could break the floor, although it's unlikely.

  2. just remember that every Litre is equal to one kilo... so the water alone is already 180 kg. gravel 20kg so I would say that your tank when it is setup will way about 250Kg. Like the other person said test where you are putting it by standing on it (with multiple ppl). If your room is upstairs check the timber flooring it should be all right. You can always fix a sheet of 19mm ply-wood underneath the cabinet. (below the four-six legs) so that the weight is distributed evenly. Or fix multiple legs/blocks underneath.

If you re a handy man you can always build a stand/cabinet yourself. I make multiple stands for all sorts of tanks. Use 90X35 Framing pine. Cut 4 lengths to the required height minus 90mm(legs) , cut 2 lengths at the tank length (horizontal tank support). 6 lengths at the tank width minus 70mm (sides and centre brace), two lengths at tank length minus 70mm (bottom cross bars). Box it all together and your tank will never fall. You can lay a 12mm sheet of ply on the bottom cross-bars to make a shelf.

    once varnished and stained... beautiful

  3. I always recommend buying the stand that comes with the tank. However, for a 180 liter fish tank you could possibly be alright putting it on a sturdy piece of furniture as long as you are sure it is sturdy enough. Try sitting on it if it holds you, have a friend sit on it with you....keep doing this until you get 4 people on it. If it holds all for people sturdily then it will also hold your fish tank.
