On the mc of one of my English ancestors, his place of residence was given as New Town. Does anyone know where this was. Thanks in advance.

  1. There are at least 25 places in England today called Newtown, and that does not include areas within existing old towns and cities that have been named Newtown. You are going to need the name of a county at least, and preferably a nearby town or village, maybe a registration district, before you can begin a more specific search.

  2. It could be anywhere. Do you know if it was near some other town?
