1895 Prices/Questions. Helpp me out. :]?

I need to know, the cost of a loaf of bread in 1895 as well as the cost of, a dozen eggs, and a quart of milk.

Also, How much did the average worker earn in a year?

Last, What forms of entertainment did people have then.?????

  1. In 1895 there was no radio, television, and almost no telephone.

    Yes telephones were invented 20 years earlier, but even to 1910 telephones  were used by very few.

    People went to halls and enjoyed live entertainment, or went to open spaces and sang together.

    Dollar a day was a union demand in 1895, many did not get that.

    Most people made their own bread, and flour was about $0.01  per pound.  Many people kept a few hens so that they bought few eggs. Mrs Leery burned down Chicago because the cow kicked over the lantern while she was milking it. People actually kept cows and goats for their own milk.

    i found out everything but milk.

    bread is 5 cents

    eggs were 12 cents

    the salary was $200-$400 a year

    and entertainmentis likt the telephone, radio , and t.v.
