I am turning 18 in a few months and I wanted to find a really nice, but fairly inexpensive restaurant to eat at with a few of my friends...A friend was recently telling me of a restaurant that had faux tea parties...I would LOVE something like that, that way its nice and elegant but also girly to reminisce about childhood as I become an "official" adult... PLEASE help!!!

  1. Roy's Restaurant  on 124 S 15th St # 1

  2. This is really in Green Lane, but try this one.   If you like that sort of thing.  They have private parties too.  Good luck and happy 18th!

  3. The Rittenhouse Hotel has a Mary Cassatt Tea Room and Garden.  I went there once and it was delightful.  Although I guess I won't classify it as inexpensive.  The surroundings are elegant, and they serve the old-fashioned British tea, with tiny sandwiches, tiny desserts, etc.

I would recommend the experience, especially if it is an all-female party.  (I don't think a guy would want to eat a dozen of teeny tiny cucumber sandwiches!)

    Best wishes on your birthday!

  4. Hard Rock Cafe is really good and the manager is really helpful.
