Question:

18th birthday: what should I do?

I'm 18 next month and my parents have said I can't have a party as such (due a bad 16th party). Instead they've said I can invite 15 of my friends around for a three-course meal with champagne reception. My neighbour is going to cook the meal (he's very good) and my sister and her friend are going to serve it etc. I want to do this but it's very hard to limit to 15... so I need something else to include more people. The problem is only a couple of my friends are already 18. Any ideas for something that includes lots of people but is fun, cheap and slightly original?

Thanks x

  1. Have a day time doo for others - have afternoon tea at yours and then people will leave after leaving you the 15 that have been invited to the meal.

  2. 18th suck eh.. i have this same problem. i can go to clubs, but my friends will have to wait outside.

see if you can hire a room out in a hotel nearby, and you can have some nibbles there some drinks and make it fancy dress, with a DJ and things. that could be fun.

  3. Sounds nice. You could have your meal and arrange to meet your other friends later.I'm sure there's plenty of places you can go in a group, maybe 10 pin bowling or something similar. Whatever you do make it something you enjoy, your only 18 once so have fun and make it a memorable occasion. Happy birthday when it comes.

  4. just a  get together with a buffet
