19 year old jailed for hanging noose on his own truck?

Has anyone heard of the 19 year old that got 4 months in prison for hanging a noose on his own vehicle? Agree with his sentence or disagree?

Agree.  He did it to intimidate black people at a rally.  And it wasn't one noose. It was three or four, hanging from the back of his truck.

To me, that looks like a death threat.

Personaly, i agree with anyones right to express themselves politicaly, no matter how stupid they are. while i don't agree with the idea of intimidating civil rights protesters, this really doesnt seem like a threat to me. I dont know the dirrect details of the case, but i assume he didnt tell them he was going to use the noose to kill them right? if he had it would be different. its not like he pointed a weapon at them, he mearly had one on display. Like someone else said, it was a stupid thing to do, and he got a stupid sentance. Hopefully time inb prison will change his attitudes somewhat toward the plight of black people. just like in Americian History X.

I think he should have gotten more time. The noose - if hung where it could be seen publically - was a threat.

He did this to intimidate black civil rights demonstrators.  He plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of interfering with the marchers' federally protected right to travel.

Since he plead guilty, he knew what the consequences were.

LOL I have one hanging from my rear view mirror. Though its not very big and it has a doll of Jimmy Johnson in it.
