Question:

1929 For Model A --- Woes!

My husband just got what we thought was a totally restored Model A. But we have found out that none of the wiring has been replaced. When we drive it, all (and I mean ALL) of the wires get H-O-T and then the car will break down. When it cools off it will run again. WHY is it doing this? Do we need to replace all of the wiring?

  1. You have a short or electrical drain that needs to be found and fixed ASAP.

  2. There are Model A experts out there that can help you. Here is one of the better ones.

  3. The model a was a 6 volt system probably converted to a 12 volt system. I would replace all the wires if it where me.

    good luck
