  1. The front (obverse) is the bust of King George V on the back (reverse) are oak leaves. It is a 6 pence from great Britain. It is made of .500 silver and there is .0455 oz of actual silver in it. Collector wise it is worth $1.50 up to $5 or so if in high grade. The coin is more famous for being used by brides when they get married. It is put in the shoe of the bride. The custom is British but was used in the USA from colonial times up through the 1890's. The coin also was used as a love token, the reverse was buffed off and a skilled engraver put fancy initials on it, then a man gave it to his girl. You have an item with more history to it then a monetary value. Enjoy a piece of the past.
