  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCXNsaiiT...

  2. Not much

  3. back in 1938, not much more than $1000. money was not worth the same amount back then. they cost about $1000 because of that and because it was designed to be a car for the working man. volkswagen means "peoples car" afterall.

  4. It's sort of a moot point, because none of the estimated 350,000 Germans who placed 5 reichmarks per week into a savings account for what was then known as the KDF (Strength Through Joy)-wagen received their cars before the war.

Fuhrer Adolf Hitler got an early car, but it seems unlikely that anyone was going to insist on him paying.

But it was  Hitler's intent that the cars sell for 1,000 reichmarks, and propaganda of the time insisted that vehicles actually were priced just below that figure

  5. In 1938 the Beetle went for around $450.00 in Germany and $1,200.00 in the US.

  6. like a couple thousnads.. maybe 20 or something? or 10

    a lot if my answer

  7. I would suggest asking http://volkswagen.com.

Look for their contact link and send them an email.  If they don't know, I don't either.

  8. The article below didn't say how much they were in 38 but I bet it's worth allot more now.

I had one for a couple of years in the early 80's. It never failed to start and it got great gas mileage I wish I still had it.
