1960's 70's horror movie?

Question

This might be a long shot but, I am looking for an old HORROR MOVIE i saw as a kid, all i can remember is the it was about a brain and a spinal cord (attached) that crawled around the ground like a catapillar and attached itself to it's victoms at the base of there skulls and sucked there brain and spinal cords out to stay alive....Does anyone know the name of this movie?? It was deffinetly a B-movie. I have done countless searched for it, but i just don't remember enough about it to be successful...

it's been a long time but i saw a similiar movies in the late 50's i think it was.the title was "the tingler"
