1963-A star note $20?

Its in EF condition from what I can tell (I'm no expert). It is crisp and has great color. It has one mild crease in the middle and one or two very minor other light creases.

Its a G-note as well. Its clear that whoever had it before me took good care of it.

Any idea what it may be worth?

$80 maybe?

  1. G means that it was printed for the Chicago Federal Reserve.

$125 would be a high price for a Choice Uncirculated 1963-A Star $20.

It really depends on who you go to for the grading and if you really want to sell or not. You should realize that if you sell it the dealer will probably offer anywhere from half to 3/4 the Red Book price.

FYI it would be catagorized as (Friedburg) FR# 2066G* or KL# 2447*

There are some interesting links below that you might want to take a look at.

  2. The series 1963A $20 star note sells for around $35 in grade fine to $75 in grade extra fine. With the creases it is not XF but could be very fine. These are a trends values and some dealers try to keep their prices under trends. A dealer would pay at least 40% less. Hope this helps.

  3. It is worth $60.00 if uncirculated.
