1965 Mustang would like to know Owner History DMV ? POLICE DEPT ?

Any ideas , I have the 11 digit vin number so Carfax or Marti Report has no info.on past owners . Will DMV help or will they not release it ? does anyone work for DMV or the Police Dept have a answer for me ? . . Please help I love this car

  1. The VIN was not standardized until 1981 so no online service collects data on older cars.  Also, many of the records that old were never put on computers.

    Under DPPA - Driver's privacy protection act the DMV can not release names or contact info on owners.
