  1. TX is one of the easier states to search, while they are not considered an open state, the birth index as well as the orignial birth books are online and searchable by anyone for a fee.  Ancestry.com contains the birth index and this can be useful but it does not always contain the pre-adoption records. There is another record (the original birth books) that are more difficult to search especially if you don't have your birth cert #'s but you may be able to apply for it depending on the county laws.

Here is what I recomend - register your information, as much as you know, including all of your parents (adopted) info. with this site.  This site and the searchers are very successful and all at no cost to you.

    G's adoption search registry:   http://www.aci.net/schaefer/page60.html

On this site are several very proficient searchers for the state of TX.  They will receive an e-mail with all of your information once your lisiting is posted and they can begin the search of the birth books and also give you direct information regarding if you can apply for your original cert..  If they can determine that they have located your original birth record, they and myself can begin the tracking of your original family.

    Good luck!

  2. Ms Emily, First off, no one accidentally gets rid of any papers

of that many. You cannot get me to ever believe that.

If I were you, I would be one angry person, and I would be in

contact with any and everyone I could....

It seems that there were a lot of adoptions, beginning a trend

    after 1964, for some reason.

First off, start with the area of Killeen, Texas, and post a

letter in that local Newspaper, so it's recorded in that history

of that county, in that town. Always address, any of that

type of Inquiries to the "Dear Editor". They are great about

printing information, about searching for relatives.

Then contact the Bar Association of the State of Texas, and

perhaps, they can help you know who was attorneys in that

area, at the time. Tell them your problem too.

Also, report ALL INFORMATION YOU HAVE ON YOUR-

SELF, TO YOUR LOCAL STATE SENATOR, because you

have a Right to Request some assistance from that person.

PLEASE DO CONTACT THE NAACP, because during the

process, I would think that your CIVIL RIGHTS, HAVE BEEN

VIOLATED, IN MANY WAYS.  They can help put a stop to

this happening to anyone else, like that too.

You might place another Inquiry in the newspaper, where the

    Texas Instruments Business was.

If you have any names, you can always check with the

Social Security Department, about any information they have

also.  They can give you the information of SS # and other

information if the person is no longer living.

There should be a folder of adoption papers, located at

the Birth Records Department in Texas, too. You need to

request the Adoption Folder be Opened. Must be done

    by a Court Order though.

If you were than adopted in another state you might check

that State Records also, but generally, that adoption record

is also part of the Original Adoption Folder, in the Original

State in which you were born...too.

If you know what your birth name is, originally, you might

check with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Whoever the Birth Mother and / or the Birth Father is...

and they have an Indian Roll Number, you might just contact

an Indian Bureau, and ask any questions, too from them...

    about your parents.

I would suggest that you, obtain any school enrollment

records, from the courthouses, in any area, you went to

school. These records are ALWAYS LOCATED IN THE

    COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE.

The State School Board, State Education Office has to

keep that type of information too.

On those type of records is your name, and that of your

parents, and any other siblings in the home.

You might have to get a court order, or an attorney, to find

out about the Nursing information, on your birth mother.

If she is a Registered Nurse, her license would be on Record

also. Even if she is a certified nurse or LPN.

You would naturally have 3 different adoption #'s, each time

you would be born / adopted. A different court # is always

given anytime there is a change in any court actions.

I'm not sure if a child can be adopted more than one time...

depends on the laws in those States, where you were

adopted. I would check that out too...If it is Against the Law

to be adopted more than Once, then Your Personal Civil

Rights have been Violated, and that is a criminal act.

Please contact any legal division, of an indian tribe, and

they might have some suggestion for you, too.

Each Tribe of Indians, have their own set of Legal Systems

    and Attorneys.

There is Bureau of Indian Affairs near you, probably, and in

    Washington, D.C.

If YOU ARE A CHILD OF INDIAN DESCENT, AND YOUR

BIRTH WAS NOT RECORDED AS SUCH THAT IS A

VIOLATION OF YOUR CIVIL RIGHTS, BECAUSE OF YOUR

    BLOODLINE.

''INDIAN TRIBES, ARE SEPARATE ENTITY OF GOVERN-

MENT THAN THE USA, AND THEY HAVE SEPARATE

RULES OF GOVERMENT ON A LOT OF THINGS".

''YOUR HERITAGE WOULD COME, UNDER FEDERAL

RULING, AND NOT STATE, BECAUSE OF YOUR INDIAN

HERITAGE''.  Your heritage of Indian ancestory, and the

tribe you belong to, are required to answer to the Chief, of

    that tribe.

I would think that any time a baby is born, of indian parent(s),

that birth should be registered with that tribe of indian records. Since yours might not have been, that too, would be

a Violation of your Birth--Rights, under the Bill of Rights...

which covers EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN, for Equal Rights

    and Equal Opportunities....

Do place an inquiry in the newspaper in Leavenworth news-

    paper too.

Your birth records, are still on file with that hospital, unless the

records were filed under ''closed, unavailable'' records.

And unless the records of that hospital have been destroyed,

    in some way.

Check the Health Departments also, for any records of

your school immunizations. These records are always public

records, too. Check any places / states in which you went

    to school.

There should be some health records, in Texas and Kansas

and anywhere else you have lived.

Your birth might have been covered by insurance, through

the Texas Instruments, or thru the Hospital where you were

    born.

Do get any type of Records, on All of Your Adopted Parents,

such as Birth, Death, Obits, School Records, etc. and by

doing this, you can trace a road, backward, and have more

information than you think you can have...

ANY INFORMATION THAT YOU CAN GET, WILL BE SOME

PROOF OF THE VIOLATION OF YOUR CIVIL RIGHTS, AND

YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO FILE SOME COURT ACTION,

ON BEHALF OF YOUR CIVIL RIGHTS TOO...

Many people do not think about the Individual Civil Rights,

of anyone, when things like this take place. Each of us are

entitled to Our Rights as Citizens, from the time we are born,

and from what I can see, those rights...whatever they may be

are often Violated, by others, and yet no one hardly ever makes a complaint.

Those Complaints can be written and sent to State Senators,

and U.S. Congress People, and to the Civil Rights Organi-

zations, and should a person be of an Indian Tribe, a copy

of / or an original letter of complaint, can be sent to the

Chief of that Indian Tribe, for their Legal Department to

    handle.

Each of us have a Right to File Complaints...and submit

    them.

We have a Right to ask One Government Agency, such as

a U.S. Congress Person, or State Senator, to BECOME A

REFEREE, BETWEEN YOU AND THE GOVERNMENT

AGENCY, IN WHICH YOU HAVE THE DISAGREEMENT.

This is in the Bill of Rights.

I do believe Everyone should Keep a Copy of that...on Hand,

for the purpose, of defense of yourself...in any matters.

Sometimes, when you make sure you get a matter, like this

wide spread enough, sometimes someone else will take

''an interest'' in your case, and they will be in contact with

you, so make sure you list a reliable mailing address or a

phone number and email address, so you can be contacted

at any time in the future, for at least the next 5 years.....

for someone might read the news article and have some

    type of information for you.

It took me just 6 weeks, to find many birth relatives of a woman who was adopted in 1936, by just a notary paper...

and this case was almost 70 years old.  The woman was

overjoyed, at the findings...and her relatives accepted her...

fully, even though they knew nothing of her birth before.

SHE HAD THE PROOF, AND THEY COULD NOT DENY

    HER HERITAGE, HER BLOODLINE.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO GET THIS ''PROOF'' AS YOU TRAVEL

    THAT JOURNEY...BACKWARD...TO YOUR ROOTS, your

    birth...and beyond.

I wish you the Best of Luck, in your travels on this journey...

and you have my heartfelt sympathy, for what you have gone

    through.

Please do let the State Leaders and the U.S. Congress

Leaders know about this, and how you feel about it...because

the life you save, might be that of another relative, or future

    friend...

    Your friend....Too Funny

  3. Try Tina's Adoption Search.  Good website and links you to websites and people who will search for you.

The "card" you are talking about means you may be registered with a Native American tribe.  In which case, they had to consent to the adoption.  In which case, they may have more details about your birth.  And it also means you may qualify for some college benefits, or possible inheritance from the tribe.  Check it out.

    Good luck to you!

  4. If you know the hospital, that's half the battle. Sometimes you can get a copy of your original birth certificate (which would list birth mother's name) either from the hospital or at the county vital statistics office where that hospital is located. It also depends on the laws in your state - I do not know if TX is a open-records state.

  5. Do a search on the internet. There are search angels for Texas and they've been fairly successful.

  6. I would go on-line to www.adoption.com and check out their web site.  That is how I found out the baby girl I gave up 27 years ago was looking for me.

Birthmothers and birth families also post that they are looking for the babies they gave up.

    Good luck!

  7. Find the attorney or maybe his firm and they will have some records. You could contact the hospital and you could contact Indian affairs if you know your mother's name or just tell them your situation

  8. what is the use of it.
