1970 Johnson & 1970 Evinrude The Same?

Hello. I was wondering if a 1970 60 Hp Johnson 3 cyl & 1970 55 Hp Evinrude 3cyl were the same to interchange parts, like carbs, lower gearcase, throttle, shifter controls, ect.. Thanks for any information.

Yes they should be the same ... Just check the alignment of holes (i.e. the carb to the intake or the lower unit to case). The throttle you should be able to change no problem that is just a case of looking at the parts to see if they will interchange.

I have the original service manuals and part #'s for both of those units if you should need any parts.
