  1. from sitting for so long oil and gas could have settled in the cylinder and now is burning off.if white smoke doesn't go away the rings are bad or the valve seals have gone out letting oil into combustion chamber and burning the white smoke will need to have engine rebuilt if smoke doesn't stop after few hours of running...

  2. Aww the Rocket 350. A wonderful engine. My dad has a '70 cutty convertible. It sat for the better part of 20 years without being cranked. we just put a battery in splashed some gas in the carb and she fired up like new. This engine is absolutely un stopable.

As far as the smoke like stated before it's fairly common for moisture to build up in the exhaust. Just make sure it's got good fluids in it and at a good level. let it run and keep a check on everything for a while. Just don't rev it like i've seen people try. gotta let all the rings and valves and such break back in. blown rings are not your friend.

good luck with the old beast!

  3. Valves have rust on them from sitting> You did change the gas in the tank?? There are a lot of thinks that need to be check out>

  4. White smoke and black liquid could just be moisture sitting in exhaust system for years and car is just burning it off. Let it run for at least an hour and see if it goes away.

just make sure and check rad. and oil while running if either one drops dramaticaly shut it off you have more problems such as cracked heads or block.
