Is the CHB a good boat? (fiberglass) Any horror stories? Great recommendations?

  1. The Taiwan built boats had a reputation of delivering a lot of value for the money spent. They did go through a learning curve, however. Check anyplace fittings were attached to wood above decks that they were bedded properly so water didn't get in to cause damage -and are the decks planked ? If planked check the plywood for rot (if over plywood) or if over a cored deck check for water intrusion (it will feel spongy when you step "hard" on it). Also check your stainless fittings for crevice corrosion- any stainless over 10 years old should be examined carefully. Good luck!

    Have worked on many there Ok but rock in any kind of seas> As there slower than slow> Check for leaks in the deck>And be prepard to go a lot of upgrades>>

    I have a downeast Sportfish> it cruise's at 20> Those might do 8mph> If your into cruising get a planing hull they can still go slow but can move along at at least 15knots to out run the seas>
