  1. if the wires are still in place and the controls still present, all you need is a circuit tester. all you have to do is hold the signal down and see which wire blinks the test light.

the rear blinkers may only have one wire, and ground thru the frame. the front lights usually have two wires, one for the signal, one for running lights.

if the wires are completely gone, seek professional help.

if you can't inspect the bike without signals, you probably run the risk of a ticket when you remove them afterwards.

  2. just look for the terminal,or clipped wires under your seat,or in the headlight bucket

  3. wire colors won't matter to pass an inspection, but they may still be there under the fender strut covers, just pop em off and have a look, or like dog said, under your seat or in your headlight bucket

  4. All the HD turn signals I worked on had a blue wire ( turn signal) a purple wire (running light) and a green wire ( ground). I had a brand new XLS (Roadster), loved that bike. It was an 81.

  5. call ur nearesat dealer about this

  6. buy a shop manual the schematic is at the back of the book.I have a 76 iron sporty but I chopped it so I dont have that junk on it.hand signals work just fine.
