1980's experts (anyone who grew up in this era) please help me??

Question

I need to find a non fiction piece (as in a book or maybe a famous piece of poetry or something) that was written in the 1980's. I was wondering if anyone knew of such a non fiction piece because I have not been able to come across one. I would also like to know what really big (as in HUGE) movies that came out during that decade. Please and thank you guys!

I can help on the movies I know that "Ferris Buller's Day off" and "Breakfast Club" was another big movie.   "Top Gun" was yet another.

The book "All I needed to know i learned in kindergarten" by  Robert Fulgham came out in the 80's.

Easy read. Everyone gave you lots of movies.........
