what would be a good cartoon or comic strip i could create that reflects a social issue or major event or character in the book?

  1. It's been 35 years since I read it, but the first thing that came to mind was that sequence where chocolate had risen in price to some amount, say 40 cents, and the government announcer on the screen said "the excellent news today is that chocolate has been reduced to just 40 cents."  I thought that really nailed the concept of doublethink.  You could draw a strip of a slumpy loser type in a wifebeater undershirt with a can of beer blearily fixated on his TV, listening to that sequence.  In the last frame he says to his cat, 'Outa my way Bill, I've got shoppin to do.'
