Question:

1984 societal levels?

I read the book, and liked it.

I also read Brave New World, and I have to do projects on each of them.

For one part of it, we have to do themes and I am on "Societal Levels",

I wrote a paragraph for Brave New World, but I am not sure what to include in for 1984.

Any suggestions?

I don't need extreme detail, but a few pointers would be great, thank you.

  1. George Orwell wrote 1984 in 1948 and that is why he called it 1984, a futuristic society.

But in fact people still had not gotten over the second world war.

That may been his inspiration like the other book written bey Margret Atwood The Handmaids Tale, that similar plot and Animal Farm.

The scary part at the end they break him down , by torturing him with rats.

And they shoot they two lovers at the end.

But 1984 did not realy happen.

Big Bother watching you, has become stupid, everybody has cameras and phones all over the place.

Brainwashed people believed there was a war all phoney, there was no war.

Kept people in fear and in thrall.
