1985 Ford F-150 delayed acceleration while driving?

The vehicle never delays accelerating from stand still, but it does when driving down the road and the accelerator is pressed even lightly. However, it does not do this every time the accelerator is pressed. There are no unusual noises associated with this symptom. Very annoying.

  1. this is a result from the air/fuel mix..... can be caused by a couple different things.  Most common fix is to replace the air filter and/or fuel filter.

  2. try checking your vacuum lines, fuel filter and the transmission fluid it could be low. I have the same truck. mine is a straight 6 300. buy the repair manuel for it. it might save you money. look for lines ( rubber hoses) that are not connected or may be in the wrong spot.transmission fluid might be low so check it also, fuel filter might be plugged, replacing it might be what it needs also. like I said buy the repair manuel for it.

  3. i agree with michaelif you want it fix checking the hoses and filters would be the best bet

  4. The problem is caused by the fact that it's a Fix Or Repair Daily.

  5. Sounds like you have either a fuel filter that needs to be replaced or a timming issue.
