1987 dodge conversion?

I want to buy a 1987 dodge conversion from a friend. it has a few cosmetic problems but he said he will fix them to my satisfaction before i buy it. i like the van alot. but what should i look out for before i buy it? Also he wants $2500 for it and that sound high. what is an appropriate price?

i don't think it would be worth 2500,more like about 1500 at the most,on that one there would be a lot of things to look for like oil leaks and water leaks,plus take in to consideration the mileage it has on it,those was bad to give transmission problems so test drive it and have a good mechanic check it out real good,when your buying something that old look everything over and be sure and check the color of the transmission fluid if it looks brownish or smells burnt id back off buying it,that means it will be giving problems in the future,good luck.
