1989 Mercedes 230 E model. The seat belt light won't go off even when the seat belt is done up. Any ideas ???

You could have some form of electrical or computer problem as the car is almost twenty years old, but you should take it to a mechanic.

cover it up with black tape, or take the bulb out, or reach under the seat and see if the wires are connected

The problem will be in the seat-belt connector or the wire harness for them...
