What were some of the causes and effects of the economic boom of the 1990's?

  1. The internet drove a lot of the economic expansion from 1994 to 2000 and got Bernie Ebbers locked up in the Federal Pen.  I would say that advances in technology and the internet was the driving force behind the 1990's economic boom.

Much of the economic boom happened only in USA and only following the inauguration of Bill Clinton as President in January 1993.  As the new president had promised in his election campaign, he assembled the Economic Advisory "Dream" Team as first order of business in his administration. Throughout President Clinton's 2 terms in office, he diligently followed their advice, and accomplished a remarkable resurgence in our economy. The most astonishing feat was an actual reduction in the national debt for the first time in the US history.
