Question:

1990 Cherokee engine ticking. Help?

My 90 cherokee has a tick in the engine. It doesn't seem to do any harm and the engine runs fine otherwise but it's noticeable. Is this a sign of a problem? Where is it coming from and what can I do to get rid of it if I can? I also ran seafoam through the entire engine the other day but had no effect (have since changed the oil too).

  1. You either have low oil pressure or oil flow problem.

It may seem like the engine is running right.  But eventually SOMETHING will fail (the part that is ticking).  Get it fixed ASAP.

    Good Luck...

  2. you first have to identify where the ticking is coming from buy a 4' piece of 1/4" or 3/8" tubing from an aquarium store stick one end in your ear and find the source with the other end, when you find it come back and someone will be able to help you
