1991 and 1999 Rugby World Cups?

Just want to find out if any Australian player appeared in both the Rugby World Cup winning teams from 1991 and 1999. My husband reckons that if Os du Randt plays in the RWC final next week, and South Africa wins, he might be the only player to have ever won 2 cups. I'm not so certain though...

  1. I can't find any player that has won 2 Rugby World Cups. I researched Michael Lynagh and David Campese but neither appeared in the 1999 final.

Jonny Wilkinson and several other England players could also be the first.

England would be the first to retain the World Cup if they win.

  2. Legendary Wallaby player John Eales appeared in both Rugby World Cup winning teams in 1991 & 1999.  He was also the captain of the Rugby World Cup winning team in 1999.

Honorable mention: There were also four other Wallabies who played in both RWC winning teams in 91 & 99 - Dan Crowley, Phil Kearns, Jason Little and Tim Horan.

However Tim Horan and John Eales were the only 2 Australian Wallaby players to have played both RWC finals in 91 & 99.

  3. John Eales!

Tell your husband to stop 'freaking' you out!....The Finals is just around the corner!

He don't want to see someone having a Heart Attack in his home...does he?....just kidding!
