If anyone knows, i need the name of the engine of a 1991 honda accord motor. I dont know the the model. there are dx lx se ex. but they all have 2.2lt 4cyl. in them what is the name. my 1999 civic is a D16Y7. i'm wanting to do an engine swap. my motor is blown and the accords motor was rebuilt 50,000 miles ago. will this swap work. can the accord motor mount to the civic 5spd trans or do i have to keep the 5spd trans from the accord and install it into the car or will that not work?

  1. your honda accord motor is a F22a.

now this swap can be done to your civic, with alot of work, headaches, and money!!!!!!!!

everything is custom about... Ive seen it done but for racing purposes.

I recommend you sell your F22a and get a used D16y7.

you will be so thankful at the end.

By you getting aother D16 you will save alot of money and time. becuz its a direct fit! Ive seen these motors go as low as $150. but u can find them on forums like Honda-tech for about $300-600. dont pay more than that.
