I tried to start my truck this morning with no luck, tried to jump it...still nothing. Checked the battery and it has life, and charged it to be safe. Had my neighbor over who is a very knowledgable mechanic and we installed a new starter. Still nothing. When I turn the key there is absolutely no sound and nothing is turning over, power is being supplied to the battery and starter. Now I am able to roll the truck for a little and pop the clutch with the key in the ignition to get it started but I need to know how to fix this and get it back to normal. Thank You in advance.

  1. some of them you can coast them in gear, then pop the clutch to start them.

  2. Could be a number of things, but the first thing I would check if i were you, is the clutch safety switch.

Still could be the battery, could be connections, after that, get a multi-meter and start following the line, when it stops having voltage where it should have voltage, you have found the problem.

  3. maybe you put in a bad starter. it's happened to me.

  4. It is your ignition switch..Which is located behind the slot where you insert your car key.

  5. Neutral safety switch

ignition switch (black plastic box held on by 2 screws to the steering column)

    Bad ground

  6. clutch safety switch it happened to me in my isuzu rodeo
