1993 GMC truck code 85 prom error, does this indicate a bad computer?

after clearing computer codes and test driving this code still appears in the computer and the transmission will not shift right.

  1. Programable read only memory is defective.It can be removed from the outside of the computor and replaced.When replacing make sure your arm has a ground stap attached so your don`t short the new one out with static electricity.
