I have owned this car for about a year i have replaced the distibutor already. about 4 months ago my car stalled on the interstate, but restarted quickly. Over time this happen's more frequently. It's now to the point to where i can't drive it more than a few miles without it stalling and not restarting. About a week ago i started it up just to warm the motor and charge the battery and i noticed a popping noise and some blue smoke coming from under the hood i then popped the hood and the smoke was coming from the area near the alternator, also smelled electrical. So i got back in the car the battery light was on. I took it for a small ride to put a couple dollars worth of gas in it. The whole time the battery light will go out and then come back on. Any ideas? Please help

  1. Generator is a new problem...sounds like you also have a bad ignition module.

Does it crank when it stalls? before  this new concern?

  2. Sounds like you have a bad alternator as well as other issues. My idea would be to take it to a shop and have it checked out by a professional.
