  1. I have had 2 Ford Thunderbirds similar to the 1995 model.  I had a 1989 Thunderbird and a 1993 Thunderbird LX.  I was forced by my father to get rid of the 1989 but I still have the 1993.  Both cars had excellent reliability.  By the time I got rid of the 1989 it had 140,000 miles on it and was still running well with no problems.  The 1993 that I still currently own has 110,000 miles and also is in excellent running condition.  I found both of them to have plenty of interior room, a smooth ride, and a nice sounding engine.  Considering you live in a traffic area I would consider the automatic, however, if you do not mind stick then it's obviously not a big deal which one you get.  Unfortunately, both of my Tbirds were auto (I wasn't able to buy the stick because my family didn't want to drive it) and I like stick, but I never had any transmission problems with the auto.  And as for the Prelude I don't know really anything about them so I can't say.  Hope you found this helpful!

  2. get the LX t-bird.  No replacement for displacement.  And its roomy.  They also made a turbocharged model.

  3. The LX T-bird will be a more comfortable cruiser, being a grand touring coupe. I used to own a Lincoln Mark VII (the Lincoln version of the T-bird, except mine had the 5.0L H.O. rather than the modular 4.6L in the '95), and it was a comfy car - very adept at eating up lots of miles in comfort. That being said, the Prelude will foster a greater sense of driver involvement as well as being much more economical. I personally am a driver who very much prefers smaller, more lively cars, so I have a bit of bias for the Honda.
