1993 chevy 1500 Truck Vibration?

When my truck is pulling a boat or a load there is a slight vibration I'm noticing. I only notice it when I'm at a stop the then accelerate and pick up speed. I have also noticed it when I'm not under a load as well and usually it happens when i have stopped like at a stop light or sign and try to accelerate. Once my truck picks up speed i no longer feel the vibration. I also hear a slight grinding when the vibration happens. I also feel the vibration/grinding through the accelerator.

motor and tranny are newly rebuilt

Any ideas???

  1. I think a good place to start is to look for a cracked motor mount or trans mount.Ive seen this type of problem through the years and found the motor mounts and trans mounts cause this type of vibration after a short time after engine and trans removal.Best of luck.

  2. Could be motor mount.  the grinding noise can come from the fan hitting the shrowd.  Could also be ujoints.  when they rust and groove they can make noise and cause vibration.

  3. check the rear pinon bearing on rear end . to check park on level ground set emergency brake chock wheels  put transmission in neutral  motor off get under push up and down and side to side on drive line at rear end and all so try to twist listen for excessive slack in u joints and rear end if its tight check at transmission same  this might help.
