i baught a 93 honda civic hatch back.

it has an acura integra B18c1 engine and computer.

I baught it and drove it about 40 miles back home. and ran good for 3 days.

i have mechanical knowledge and have been doing light mechanical work for 4 yrs.

ive tried most of problems listed in the hanes manual.

and searched bloggs and honda forums.

it gets gas but not getting power to the sparkplugs. ive checked all fuses.

its been about 3weeks since it stopped working.

from my vague memmory i think it stopped working after i cleaned the engine bay.

ive changes starter- wasnt it so put the old one back on.

checked sensors and distributor for voltage= no voltage.

i think there was voltage on 1 wire going to distributor.

fuel pump works good and gets 45psi when trying to crank.

ive checked ignition and actually swapped the ignition with my other honda civic and still not working.(by ignition i mean where the wire harness goes to the ignition) i checked 1,2,and 3 positions for continuity and worked fine.

i have a 94 civic hatch si, and even swapped ignition wires out because i wasnt sure if i diagnosed it right-you never know.

i pulled out each spark plug and all have some gas on them.

i wiped them dry and put back in and still not the problem.

i also took distributor cap off to check for water and no water.

i checked harness plugs 3 on left and 3 on right side, all work fine and getting power. i recorded and compared with mi si's harness and voltage matched.

only thing i can guess it is, is the alarm system or the ecu or even a burnt wire somewhere.

there are 2 inline fuses going to the alarm i took them out to try and start it and same problem.

if you cant help or can tell me where the best place to go. will be appreciated.

if anyone can help, please be specific if possable.

(EX: tell me wire colors to check etc... )

  1. does the car turn over?

or are you getting nothing at all?

if the car turns over but wont fire, i would check the ignitor.

if nothing at all, i would check the main relay.

  2. the coil inside of your distributor has gone bad. Either that or the spring has gotten bent or lost. Replace this and I almost guarantee it will solve your problem. All you need to do is take the cap off, take the 2 screws out of the little black thing on top with the long protruding point, replace it with a new one, and start the car.

  3. how did you clean the engine bay? its a possibility that you got a wire wet and it shorted something. its deffinately an electical problem. was the inside of the distributor scorched or burned? it could be the distributor. i know its really exspensive but the honda dealership is really the best place to take your car unless you have a very very very trusted mechanic who has a warentee guarentee type deal. is the ecu obd1 or 2? take it to autozone to see if its sending out any codes. they can diagnose the prob if it is. that would deffinately help. have them check everything. altenator is another thing. thats really a big thing actually. check that. so yea check your altenator before you do anything else because that may be the problem. can you jump start it?
