1993 olds cutlass supreme?

engine runs extremely hot,too hot to touch oil dipstick.temperature gauge on dash indicates temp ok.any ideas? thanks.

you have to check the oil when the engine is cold. before you start it or after you run it, give it some time to cool.

Run a cooler thermostat,maybe a 180-or-160 temp,a fan with more blades,and if you're using a cooant mix,(50-50)or(all water),stop-it!!No matter what you've been fooled about use 100% anti freeze at all times.It'll save your motor,head gaskets,and run far kooler.I've been at this 40 yrs.,own 2 mechanic shops,(very successfully),and collect,Cadillacs.Only blown gaskets I've evr had was from cars I bought that way.
