But it made a lot of noise for about 5 min and the quieted down and cool air inside. It has not been ran in a yr or more, do I need to add a couple of oz s of pag oil as its still a little noisy??

  1. What is the current pressure in the system? You have to be careful when charging to make sure you don't do it too quickly. The compressors don't like to try to compress a liquid (it can ruin a compressor). If it is still making noise, it may have a slight overcharge.

  2. Yes you need to add oil to the system but if it is full now you cant because you will overcharge the unit unless you reclaim some freon from the system,,,,,,,,good luck.
