1994 Honda Accord Anti Theft Radio

Question

I recently put a new battery in my Honda. When I put on the radio, I got the word code. I entered the correct code and it still says code. The car was given to me and there was an old alarm system that was disengaged and drained the battery. I had the alarm taken out. Could this be a problem or are they separate.
