  1. Look around for any hoses not plugged in or damaged..

  2. to adjust idle speed- warm engine turn off all accessories unplug cooling fans, turn off engine, put a jumper wire in the ignition timing terminal on the firewall and ground it to a negative. under the dash in the diagnostic connector ground out pin number 10. start the car, adjust the speed adjustment s***w on the top of the throttle body so idle stays at 700-800 rpm (counter clockwise raises rpm-clockwise lowers) turn off motor undo both ground wires and restart car. The best place to get a book on the eclipse is at autozone or advance auto its made by Haynes (book#  68030) this procedure is explained in detail with pictures of the connectors you will be looking for.  Also at autozone find Lucas injector cleaner- pour in the tank and it does the job for you. Tried other cleaners not as good, Lucas is the best I've used put the whole bottle in half a tank of gas in a couple of days your injectors will be clean. shouldn't need to debug computer but disconnecting the battery will reset computer of any error codes for check engine.

  3. The car maybe idling too low.

Is the engine clean....as in clean injectors, fuel pump is working right properly, all sensors are returning data properly.

The ECU controls everything and adjusts idling to engine temperature and such. You can download the ecu data, debug it and increase the idle rpms and flash it back......
