Question:

1995 Camaro as a first car?

It is a 3.4L V6- That is what I want for gas reasons.

It has 104k miles-Doesn't seem bad for a car 13 years old.

It is not a Z28 or SS or anything else.

I'm planning on putting a K&N air filter and a cold air intake to it along with aftermarket tail lights and tinting the windows. Maybe throwing some underglow on too.

Would this car be reliable and would it be a good first car that wouldn't strand me somewhere?

The guy is wanting $3,600 for it, someone said I could try to talk him down to $3,000.

Let me know what you think if you know anything about cars.

  1. Your 13 and getting a car? and on top of that its a Camaro? You must be some spoilt kid. And then you get the v6 model to save gas, but on top of that you add a K&N filter, and in the mind of a 13 year old, your getting that filter for more POWER! FYI you get like 5hp from it. With all that + tinted windows your going to look like the biggest loser in town, and people are going to use you for your ride, not yourself.

    Good luck you'll need it.

  2. Talk him down if you really want this car. They lose a lot of their value once they hit the magic 100,000 mile mark. Check www.kbb.com to see what it's worth. What extra expenses will you have to pay to make this car run really well? Are the tires good? The transmission shifts all right? Air conditioning cold? Stuff like that makes a difference. It's hard to say how reliable it'll be because things break or just wear out when a car gets older. If the guy has had it up for sale for a while, he should be willing to come down on the price. Good luck!
