I own a 1995 Eagle Talon 2.0l non turbo with a automatic, while it is idleing it will sometimes just die, it will start right back up, also sometimes it will die the same way if you turn on or off a switch such as a wiper switch or a ac fan switch, head light and so on. I have put new plugs and plug wires in it checked all the fuses. lt idles and runs just as smooth as it can. I have exhausted myself in trying to figure what is causeing it to die, also checked the battery and terminals they are in good and clean shape, the check engine light does not come on to show any codes, i think it is either a wire loose somewere or it is the computer. asking for all possible answers thank you.

  1. Did you have the battery and alternator tested? Most parts houses don't charge for the tests!!

  2. One of the symptoms for a failing ECU is for the vehicle to die for no reason. Do you hear any type of clicking noise by the radio or the smell of rotten eggs. Do you know if the capacitors have been replaced? From the years of 1985-99, the computers from different makes and models were affected and suffer the same consequences for others mistakes.
