Does anybody know how the Devils won four straight against the explosive Red Wings in the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals? The reason I asked this is becuase the Wings always seem to dominate their opponent in the finals. And the only team that figured them out was the 1995 New Jersey Devils. Just thought I ask.

  1. there were a couple of components. the devils had a much better team, an awesome coach and Marty Brodeur was much younger.  The devils also had key players such as Stevens, Dano, Claude lemuxe (sorry on the spelling), niedemyer (sp) and also Brodeur. This all contributed to the start of the Devils best dynasty leading to the 3 cups that they had. in 2000 they had awesome offense coming from Jason Arrnot and Sykora. and all the other players that scored.

  2. broduer and the "left wing lock"  aand pepe lemeuix had a great series

  3. the trap

    next question?

  4. Thats how the Wings dynasty got started. The Devils were the only team in the East that had the Wings figured out.

I say this because I am a Wings fan, and even though the Wings won the Cup, the Pens are the Wings of that 1995 Finals. Even though they didnt get the Cup, it will be the start of something big in Pittsburgh.

  5. that was the start of a dynasty. defense and some more defense

    thats how

  6. They beat the Wings at their own game. The Wings were winning with speed and puck possession against slower less skilled teams. The Devils were faster and just as skilled with their great defense and dominant checking game. They were simply the better team.

  7. Scotty Stevens?

  8. tadpole and uummmm eyepatch time

  9. That was 13 years ago, the Wings weren't as solid then as they are now.

  10. they had a good team then, scottie stevens, my favorite player, was a great leader and defender, they had daneyko, neidermeyer, c. lemiuex(good in playoffs), brylin, and others that have come to be successful players, they were just picked to lose since the wings were so dominant and that the devils were underrated
