  1. Ya there could be an electrical problem.

but if you wanna have an idea if the trans is bad, check the trans fluid.

if its a good pink and red its a good sign.

if it looks burnt and smells bad that means your trans is prob going out.  if so try a bottle of trans stick/fix.

you can get it at any hardware store, it could help or give you a few extra thousend likes out of it.

    Good Luck.

  2. If the speedometer is not working, then the Power Control Module (PCM) is not receiving data from the VSS (vehicle speed sensor)

The (VSS) provides vehicle speed information to the PCM

The PCM uses the vehicle speed signal to determine transmission shift timing.

So yes it is an electrical issue. You need to repair the NO VSS signal, then re-evaluate.

whether it's a bad sensor or wiring issue , that's for a competent technician to figure out.

    Good Luck

  3. have you ever checked or changed the Trans fluid? If not that could cause the gears to gum up. try either flush fill or add a bottle of Lucas trans fix.
