1995 dodge stealth dohc auto transmission problems

my car will pull fine when you first start it up after about 5 minutes it doesnt pull unless you give it gas . but then it stops pulling all together shut the car off and start it back up car pulls and then does the 5 minute thing again ect.

have you checked the fluid to see if its burnt or sort of a brownish color to it,it sounds like its slipping  really bad,see if the fluid has a burnt smell to it,or if its a dark reddish color or more brown if it is it needs to go to a shop ,make sure its full also and if you hear whining sound coming from it this may be the front pump going out in it,either way if you don't get it to a shop their may be no saving this transmission,good luck.

Being an electronic automatic, there will likely be codes stored associated with it's issues, It sounds like a pressure related issue, maybe a restricted filter, which means bad news for the trans, debris may be plugging the filter causing a loss of fluid to the pump,. this condition can destroy a transmission, but the damage is likely to have already occurred, a pan inspection may show debris, they tend to be an expensive transaxle to repair and remove.
