  1. Last year we sold at 1979 Cressida with over 300,000 miles on it.  The car was maintained well (and regularly) and we did put a little money in it over the years (such as a new transmission) but it was a lot cheaper than buying a new vehicle.  The only down side is if you're ever in an accident, the insurance company will give you next to nothing for it, even in perfect condition.

  2. First, thank you for the testimonial on your Camry.  Yes the car can last longer.  It is obvious you have maintained that car well.

Usually engine noises or shifting concerns manifest prior to any real breakdown.  You might see a fuel or water pump, but these are minor concerns.

    good Luck and thanks again!

  3. Its not un common for a toyota or honda to last that long with regular maintnece and care. My freind had a '92 civic with 415,000 miles before it finally craped out. Some sign of it showing its wear could be burning oil, sluggish performance, ect. (there can be alot of things). I currently have a 94 accord with 250,000 miles on it and it runs like new.

  4. one day you will be driving along on a lonely rural road and then all of a sudden clank clunk psssssssssshpoof.

the end of your car...then you are going to hear the horrifying sound of a chain saw...you try and run but the motor of the chain saw comes closer. Then soon the only thing louder than the chainsaw is the sound of your blood curdling screams as it chops you in half.

Just  kidding....just finished watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

    Good luck.

  5. 1997 camry le 180,000 miles and still going strong. I use it to go to college and work. plan on getting a tahoe/yukon. if I had any sense i would get a 4-runner.
