My 1995 Camaro model z28 with a 5.7 liter v8 engine has a problem. A leak has been going on for at least 3 months now and i know that sounds like a long time and it is. and recently a symbol has appeared in my dash. it looks like a box with rounded off edges with an arrow pointing inward and a squigly mark that looks like a fluid being low. I have no manual so i cant figure out which it means. my brake fluid, clutch fluid, tranny fluid, oil, coolant. all i can think of is full or at least satisfactory. the fluid dripping is somewhat red like tranny fluid, but thats full, i go under and open the fill spot and it actually drips out, it may be over full, but that wouldnt make sense because its been leaking for much time. anyone have a manual for it or an answer for me. also. recently my car has been grinding random times into first and second, but not all the time. what fluid is low and is my tranny screwed? i drive stick well and i dont even allow the rpms to go over 3k before shifting so im not riding it too hard. help? also my aim is V3NOM333, i have it on my phone so u can IM anytime.

  1. You ARE low on trans fluid.  You don't check trans fluid from underneath, you check it and fill it from a dipstick under the hood.  Check the trans fluid with the engine running and warmed up.

  2. If the trans is being overfilled it will leak out through the vents and any other place it can find.  A lot of people think they have trans or p/s leaks and the only thing wrong is overfilling.
