1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse transmission problems?

Question

I can put the transmission in every gear except Drive and it works fine. When we changed the fluid it looked good, no chunks of metal or anything. Can sombody please tell me what might be wrong. Could it be the control module?

will it shift into park and reverse ?  did you replace the filter when you changed the fluid ? i don't think it the control module. sounds more like one of the servos in the trans. may have came unplugged . when you changed the filter. could be a cut or pinched wire . or a pin pushed out of the connector .  just some things to check . why did you change fluid? and was the trans working ok before you changed fluid ?

Sounds like it needs to be rebuilt. Have a reputable tranny shop inspect it and give you an estimate.
