1996 Toyota rave 4 All wheel drive. Driving on the beech?

I was on the beech with my Rav4 and i put it in Revers and i had to floor it and it did not spin the tiers or move.The engine just reved?It was like flooring it with the brake on? I don't under stand Forward is fine.What could be causing to do that.Toyota had no answer for me.

  1. This is a problem with some all wheel drive cars. It detects wheel slippage at all four wheels and refuses to deliver power to any of them. If your car has the option of turning off the traction control do that and the car should move.

    This is one thing the salesmen don't tell you about with these all wheel drive units because they are not familiar with their product.
